China, a risk to our national security: myth or reality?
A discussion led by Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP, founder of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, which he co-chairs with Helena Kennedy
Under the Cameron years, both David Cameron and George Osborne worked hard to attract Chinese investment and enterprise to the UK. Their aims were successful resulting in the controversial deal to build a nuclear plant at Hinkley Point. China's tentacles have spread all over the world facilitated by their Belt & Road Initiative. Should we be fearful of allowing Huawei technology to be part of our 5G network? Have we made a mistake in allowing the Communist Party of China a stake in our economy and technology?
Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP thinks so. He is a leading thinker on the threat from China.
