MP for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, spoke out to encourage everyone to pick up a book, and encourage the youngest members of our society to love books from their very start of their life.

Nickie said,

"The BookTrust has been in touch and sent me their latest up to date book bag, which is full of books for little ones from birth to three. It's funded through the Arts Council of England, which is in itself funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

"I love reading as many of you know, and I've been reading to my children who are now big, but since they were born, things like The Gruffalo and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Even from tiny babies, it's so important to read to them.

"So I encourage parents and carers and grandparents, uncles and aunties to do read to their little ones, and let's get our children loving books from the very start of their life."

Find out more, and take a look at some of the fantastic resources from the BookTrust.
