As part of the Council’s annual Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme for the coming financial year 2019/20, your Councillors have successfully lobbied for street lighting to be upgraded at the following locations.
 

The Marylebone Low Emission Neighbourhood

As the Marylebone Low Emission Neighbourhood project draws to a close we are seeking your participation in a short survey to evaluate the project. Your participation in the survey will help us to improve our working practices on future schemes across the city.  

Rough sleeping and policing

A number of local people have been sending in pictures of beggars along Melcombe Street and Melcombe Place between Marylebone and Baker Street Stations which your Councillors have been passing onto our Council problem solvers and the dedicated Ward Police officers.

We all acknowledge that the major gas replacement works currently being carried out across Pimlico are necessary. That doesn’t mean we can’t be frustrated by the on-going road closures and disruptions.

It has been an incredibly busy time since I last updated you on the work of Conservative-run Westminster City Council.

Parking on Estates and new Traffic Orders

Parking enforcement on Council estates is to be transferred to the Council’s parking enforcement teams under a ‘Traffic Management Order’ (TMO), starting with Churchill Gardens in April. Existing permit holders will be guaranteed a replacement permit at no extra charge.

A supporting hand for those sleeping on the streets

Sadly we continue to see an increase in the number of rough sleepers on our streets. Westminster attracts more than the next four boroughs combined. Being the “capital of the capital” has always meant more people bedding down on our streets.

Success on tackling drug dealing

The biggest concern raised by our residents over recent months is the increase in drug dealing, open drug taking and begging. 

Ebury Bridge Estate: More homes and Community spaces

Westminster Council is accelerating its home-building programme in Churchill Ward with Phase 1 of Ebury Bridge estate renewal set to deliver 216 flats, including 130 replacement social rent homes.
