News

Dockless bikes across Westminster

Dockless bikes such as Lime Bike, Mobike and oBike, not to be confused with the ‘Boris Bikes’ can often be seen left on our streets. Although Westminster promotes active and sustainable journeys and encourages people to walk and cycle, it has not given these multiple dockless cycle hire operators

Reporting suspicious behaviour to the police

We are often asked by residents about the best way to report suspicious behaviour to the Police. We have consulted them and been told that if a crime is in the process of taking place then you should ring ‘999’. If the offence has happened, then you should ring ‘101’.

Electric vehicles and car sharing

Given the increased media attention to environmental issues, we are frequently asked about what WCC is doing to help. We have a range of initiatives including providing more electric vehicle charging points than any other London borough.

Marking Dementia Week

The number of people living with dementia is increasing year upon year and we must do more as a nation to make our most vulnerable citizens and their families feel safe and cherished.

Clean Air for All

Air quality is just as much of a priority for you as it is for us - this is why it is at the top of our agenda for Westminster.

Idling vehicles are some of the worst offenders when it comes to dirtying the air we breathe, so Westminster Conservatives are cracking down on them hard.

The Westminster Mile

For second year running, the Westminster Mile was largest one-mile run in the world. More than 11,000 people ran the one-mile stretch including many of your local Conservative councillors.

One Year of Promises Kept

A year ago, people living in Westminster voted for a Conservative-run Council. In one of the closest elections in recent years, you put your faith in us to deliver a council with high-quality services and the lowest Council Tax in the country.

Westminster on Wheels

From 1st April 2019 Westminster City Council’s (WCC) housing stock previously managed by CityWest Homes was transferred back in-house to WCC.
