Antonia Cox

Antonia Cox has lived in Hyde Park ward with her family for nearly 20 years and is Vice Chairman of Governors at Marylebone Boys' School. Those of us who know this area well appreciate its thriving community and church groups, and wonderful Hyde Park on our doorsteps. As a councillor, I am keen to do all I can to help residents tackle the challenges of what is also a busy part of central London.

It has been an incredibly busy time since I last updated you on the work of Conservative-run Westminster City Council.

A supporting hand for those sleeping on the streets

Sadly we continue to see an increase in the number of rough sleepers on our streets. Westminster attracts more than the next four boroughs combined. Being the “capital of the capital” has always meant more people bedding down on our streets.

Sussex Gardens and Burwood Place made safer

Sussex Gardens is now safer for pedestrians and cyclists following the quietway and crossing works. We appreciate that there was some traffic disruption, not helped by Thames Water, but there has been a real improvement in safety as a result.

Update on tackling short lets around Hyde Park

Conservative led Westminster City Council is calling on the Government to introduce mandatory information sharing between councils and operators such as AirBNB, so that it can enforce the legal limit of 90 days a year for short lets.

Council implements leafing clearing plan

You may have noticed that our trees have started to shed their leaves. From 5th November, Westminster City County began implementing its ‘Leafing Plan’.

Danny Chalkley has represented Vincent Square Ward since 2002. He has worked persistently to address many local problems and improve the quality of life for those living and working in the area. He has served as a Cabinet Member for many years and sat on numerous committees.

Murad Gassanly

First elected in 2014 and representing Churchill Ward in Pimlico, Murad joined the Conservative Group at the City of Westminster Council in July 2017. He is a freelance political consultant, specialising in energy politics in the Caspian Sea region.

Jonathan Glanz

Jonathan Glanz has lived and worked in the West End for many years. He is currently Lead Member for Broadband and the Digital Economy and Chairman of the Family and People Services Policy and Scrutiny Committee.

Jim Glen

Jim Glen has lived in Pimlico for over 20 years, and is married with three children all of whom attended the local Church primary school before going on to secondary education.

Angela Harvey

Angela moved to Pimlico nearly 30 years ago and was first elected to the Council in 2002.  She works hard to protect the village feel of Pimlico, and is known as a caring, capable and accessible local councillor, helping residents to make their lives better.

David Harvey

David lives in Vincent Square Ward. Elected in 2010, he works to make life better for local residents and businesses and to preserve our area’s distinct character. He always pushes for Council services to be high quality, value for money and helpful.

Elizabeth Hitchcock

Elizabeth has lived in London for the past 25 years and in Westminster for the past 11 years. She is the mother of four sons, currently working part-time for a Conservative Cabinet Minister and is a trustee of a Westminster-based youth club.

Louise Hyams

Louise Hyams has had the honour and privilege of representing St. James's Ward since her election to the Council in 1998.

Tim Mitchell

Tim Mitchell has lived and worked in Westminster for over 25 years and is a self-employed computer consultant. An active member of the St James's area community, he serves on the committees of several local groups including Covent Garden’s Jubilee Hall Trust and the Abbey Community Centre.

Since settling in Marylebone 15 years ago, Eoghain Murphy has immersed himself in local life, developing a deep affection for the area and its communities.

Rachael Robathan was a fund manager in the City for almost 20 years, specialising in emerging markets. She has been actively involved in politics for all her adult life and, among other things, was co-Chairman of Contact, a Conservative political lecture group with over 400 members.

Ian Rowley has lived in Marylebone High Street Ward for 27 years and have represented its residents on the Council since 2007, where his activities have covered crime and disorder, housing, financial, commercial and strategic matters. Ian is currently the Chair of both WCC Audit and Performance C

Karen Scarborough

Karen Scarborough has lived locally for over twenty years. She prioritises communicating with residents and resolving concerns from street issues to licensed premises.

Mark Shearer

Mark Shearer is a Chartered Surveyor and also Co-Founder of Semble (www.semble.org) - previously called Project Dirt. Mark’s surveying focus is on "retail-led" city centre regeneration.

Selina Short

Selina has lived in Vincent Square ward for 17 years.  She works in Parliament, supporting MPs in dealing with issues raised by their constituents. Selina is keen to make a difference locally by working on solutions to local issues from rough sleeping and housing to traffic management.

James Spencer

James was elected to Westminster City Council in May 2018. As well as ward councillor for Tachbrook he sits on the Planning Committee, the Housing and Finance Policy and Scrutiny Committee and the Standing Advisory Committee for Religious Education. 

Jacqui Wilkinson

Jacqui has lived in Pimlico for over 20 years and was elected as a Councillor for Warwick Ward in 2015. She is currently Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Education and Skills as well as Westminster's Animal Welfare Champion.
