A Night of Venetian Splendour: Westminster Conservatives’ Masquerade in the Heart of the West End

Last Wednesday night, the West End Conservatives transformed Fitzrovia’s Lucky Pig into a scene straight from the canals of Venice, hosting a Venetian Masquerade of timeless elegance. Against the backdrop of moody lighting, low ceilings, and the hum of lively conversation, guests stepped into a world where mystery and ambition intertwined—a fitting metaphor for the party’s momentum in Westminster.

The venue, a hidden gem in the West End, exuded intimacy and opulence. Gold and silver accents glimmered beneath warm lighting as attendees—adorned in Venetian masks (provided or brought to dazzling effect)—mingled to the tune of light music. The air buzzed with laughter, clinking glasses, and the rustle of formal attire, as old friends reunited and new connections blossomed over elegant canapés and fine wine.

The evening’s speeches underscored the party’s growing foothold in Westminster. First to take the floor was West End Councillor Tim Barnes, fresh from his victory in September’s by-election—a win that secured the Conservatives an additional council seat. Councillor Barnes spoke passionately about the party’s vision for Westminster, thanking supporters and rallying the room to continue building on recent successes.

The momentum, he noted, has only accelerated. With Councillor Martin Hayes securing another seat in February’s by-election, the Conservatives now need just four more seats to reclaim control of the council.

The highlight of the evening came with an address by Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP, who reflected on the importance of local victories to national progress, praising Westminster’s volunteers and councillors for their tireless work in February. Following him, former MP Daniel Kawzynski spoke about holding the Labour government and Keir Starmer accountable.

As the night drew to a close, one thing was clear: the Westminster Conservatives are not just building a campaign—We’re fostering a major shift. With every new connection forged and every seat gained, the path to reclaiming the council grows sharper.

Stay tuned for more events as we push toward victory—and join us in writing Westminster’s next chapter!
