Time to tackle the chaos of abandoned dockless bikes on our streets and pavements

Despite reassurances from the Labour-led Council, dockless bikes continue to block many streets and pavements across the city.

The council has introduced new parking spaces for dockless bikes and e-scooters last year, but it is clear the scheme is not working. In fact, in many parts of Westminster, the parking of bikes causes more obstructions, trip hazards, and obstacles, especially for disabled pavement users.

We spoke to Cllr Ed Pitt Ford in Soho. Ed explains

"Electric hire bikes are a really important part of hitting our air quality targets and our net zero targets in the City of Westminster.

"Unfortunately, as you can see, the parking of these is being mismanaged by the local council.

"So please sign our petition to get the council to manage the parking of e-bikes correctly and increase the number of spaces available.

"Time for me to go and find somewhere else to park."
