Our plan to tackle homelessness in Westminster

Our Plan: Caring for the Vulnerable

This week Westminster Conservatives have launched our plan to care for the vulnerable in Westminster. We spoke with the Conservative Leader of Westminster City Council, Cllr Paul Swaddle, to find out more. Paul explained,

Westminster Conservatives have a Plan for Caring for the Vulnerable.

Labour's Westminster has resulted in record high rough sleeping and homelessness, the most in the UK. Overall satisfaction with the Council has fallen for three years in a row. And the proportion of local people who feel the Council cares about its vulnerable residents has fallen.

Same Old Labour: All headlines, no real action or meaningful solutions.

Westminster Conservatives believe that compassion means practical action that changes lives and protects those who need help most.

If elected on 7 May, Westminster Conservatives will:

  • Protect Westminster's Outstanding Ofsted rating for Children's Services with investment in early intervention, safeguarding and partnerships with schools, youth organisations and Family Hubs.
  • Expand personalised outreach for rough sleepers, strengthen collaboration with charities and the Westminster Homelessness Partnership, and increase access to transitional and supported accommodation.
  • Support local initiatives that bring residents together and reduce isolation through volunteer groups, wellbeing programmes and intergenerational engagement.
  • Transform libraries into modern hubs offering digital learning, skills training, meeting spaces and support services.
  • Call for local short-stay mental health beds so residents in crisis receive care near their support networks.
  • Strengthen the Carers' Support Offer with better respite, financial advice and training.

If you want a council that genuinely cares for Westminster's most vulnerable residents, Vote Conservative on 7 May.
