Huge concern over Mayor Khan's planned inflation-busting tube fare increases

Tube Running

We spoke to Cllr Paul Swaddle OBE following concerning news that tube fares are expected to rise by more than inflation until 2030.

Thanks to the Mayor's choices, we are all going to be hit with shocking above-inflation TfL fare increases!  For too long, Sadiq Khan's "fare freezes" were a political choice, putting off vital investment in our transport network to buy votes in the election.

Now, with the Labour Government refusing to bail him out, the bill is finally coming due to cover TfL’s ballooning £13.6bn of debt, which the Mayor has failed to get under control.

Instead of small, manageable fare rises over time, we're now facing huge, sudden jumps every single year until the end of the decade!

This isn't just bad timing; it's a massive financial blow when many in Westminster are already struggling.

Londoners will now pay the cost of the Mayor's failure.

If you share our concerns about the Mayor of London Sir Sadiq Khan's planned tube increases, please back our campaign below.
