Improving schools in Westminster

Westminster is above the national average for pupils achieving a ‘good’ Level  4 in reading, writing and maths. Following a run of OFSTED inspections St Augustines CE, Christchurch Bentinck and Hallfield Primary Schools have been upgraded and rated as ‘good’.

Tachbrook Councillors help halt Sainsbury's library plans

Resolute action by Tachbrook Ward councillors has halted Sainsbury’s bid to turn the old library in Rampayne Street into a supermarket. Although a small number of people had welcomed this application many more were concerned at the prospect, concerns that were shared by the ward councillors.

Westminster residents are set to benefit from cheaper energy thanks to Westminster's participation in the Big Energy Switch, which declared the results of their auction on Tuesday. The scheme invites companies to bid against each other to supply energy to thousands of people across the country who sign up.
