On the evening of Wednesday 20th July, the Pimlico South Ward burst back onto the scene by holding their annual summer garden party overlooking the Thames, for the 22nd time. This popular event saw 120 guests from across the Cities of London & Westminster Conservative Association defy the alarming weather forecast to come together for a special summer evening of fun, informal networking and socialising, overlooking the Thames in SW1!
The party featured an excellent buffet dinner, with strawberries and cream, wine, soft drinks, Pimms and of course David and Angela’s famous ‘bubbles bar.' Following drinks and dinner, the grand raffle was drawn which saw some excellent prizes including Halcyon Days Luxury goods and other assorted gifts being awarded to winners.
Guests were then treated to a speech by the local Member of Parliament, Nickie Aiken MP, about the importance of local activism, Ward Associations and her view on the future path for the Conservative Party more broadly.
Thrilled with the success of the evening, Pimlico South Ward Chair, Wendy Binder, said
It was wonderful to see so many old and familiar faces join us again for the Tachbrook party, and to welcome many newcomers to this regular event. We do hope you will all come again next year. It is lovely to see members coming together for possibly the best iteration of this event yet. I am pleased with the terrific amount raised through our raffle and ticket sales, and grateful to all those who turned out to support our historic event. Special thanks must go to all who helped make this such a successful and enjoyable event.
Two Cities Association Chair, James Spencer, supported Wendy’s words by saying
It’s so important that all our wards function well and are able to thrive like Pimlico South does. All politics starts at the grass roots level, and we can make great change happen by being as active and engaged as possible. Well done to Sally Tooth and the rest of the ward for putting together another great night on the Thames!
