Shadow Secretary for Work and Pensions
We're delighted to be joining the worldwide members of Conservatives Abroad are invited to join a video call with Helen Whately MP, on Wednesday 14 January at 1300 GMT.
Helen has been the MP for Faversham and Mid Kent since 2015 and Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions since November 2024. She was Shadow Secretary of State for Transport from July to November 2024 and Minister of State for Social Care from October 2022 to July 2024. She also served as Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury from 2021 to 2022.
Before entering Parliament Helen worked in business for PwC, AOL and McKinsey & Co. and spend a year in Nepal teaching English.
This will be a key opportunity for the Party's membership to hear from, and to question a member of the shadow front bench and hear of the plans for renewal of the Party as well as the new policy formation needed to ensure a return to power at the earliest opportunity.
