Tuesday 21st November: St James's Drinks Reception with Rory Stewart OBE MP
The Officers and Committee of St James's Ward invite you to join Rory Stewart MP for a drinks reception from 6.30pm on Tuesday 21st November, to be held in a private residence 10 minutes' walk from the Palace of Westminster.
Rory is currently serving as a Minister of State at the Department for International Development and as Minister of State for Africa at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. He is a former Chairman of the Defence Select Committee. He was first elected in 2010.
Stewart was a senior coalition official in Iraq in 2003–04. His book, The Prince of the Marshes (also published under the title Occupational Hazards) is based on his experiences. He is also known for his 2002 walk across Afghanistan, one part of a larger walk across Asia, which served as the basis for another book, The Places in Between, as well as his later cultural development work in Afghanistan as the Founder and Executive Chairman of the British charity Turquoise Mountain Foundation.
Drinks and canapés will be served.
£30 per person.
