Kit was elected as Conservative MP for North West Hampshire in 2015 and previously served as Minister of State for Crime, Policing and the Fire Service in addition to serving as Minister of Housing between 2018 – 2019.
Prior to being elected to Parliament Kit served as Deputy Mayor for Policing between 2008 – 2012 and Deputy Mayor for Business and Enterprise from 2012 – 2015 under the then Mayor of London, now Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. Kit also served as a Warwick Ward Councillor on Westminster City Council between 1998 and 2006.
Kit attended Sudley County Primary school and then Liverpool College before studying Politics and Economics at Newcastle University.
